Monday Random Thoughts

- I am so glad I am finally done with the molten front on my main and have all the achievements under my belt.

- Thanks to Blizzard for making it have three elementals spawn for the fires in the sky quest.

- I was starting to think the one I needed would never spawn.

- I was really getting bored of doing those dailies.

- After finishing it I did not log on to my main for three days.

- Unless I am raiding, or on Tuesdays when valor resets, there is no reason to ever be on my main again.

- Heck, even if raiding, I am always tanking now, so my main exists now to run Zuls 7 times a week.

- Sigh.

- Did the molten front dailies on my warrior, my shaman, my mage and my druid.

- One thing is for sure, I really do not want to do that grind to open the shops again for my other characters.

- It is one of those things that is fun once.  Boring if you keep doing it for achievements.  And finally annoying if I wanted to do it on all my other characters.

- How much you want to bet that the number of marks needed are nerfed in about a month?

- Honestly, the one reason to do it on my other characters is to get the gear or the crafting recipes and in truth it is just not really worth it.

- Do alts really need the gear?

- My warrior does not even run dungeons and I keep him geared well enough to tank firelands.  I don't think I need the few 365 items from there for an alt.

- Blizzard will realize that the grind is too long to do a second, third, forth time and they will nerf it.

- I don't see them making the recipes and gear BoA so my guess is they will lower the number of marks needed.

- 100 each to open the two factions and 75 each to open each shop.

- Remember you heard it here first. ;)

- I'll give credit where it is due once again to blizzard.  It made me run hyjal with my other characters.

- One good thing about that is at 85 it really takes no time.  Another good thing is it made a nice chunk of gold doing it.

- I made 1900 gold just from questing and selling the quest rewards.  Not to mention a nice little handful of volatiles, about a dozen BoE greens I sent to my enchanter and a few stacks of cloth plus 5 and a half stacks of obsidian ore, being my bear is a miner.

- Not bad for doing something I was stuck having to do anyway.

- That is only doing enough to open it up so I could get the quests.

- I am thinking if I did all cataclysm quests in all areas I could probably net somewhere close to 20K gold per character just from doing them.  Not bad for something that is stupid easy.

- Still would not do it, there are easier and faster ways to make money but if you are going to do it that gold is a very nice byproduct.

- Blizzard did make a step in the right questing direction however and I see more questing like this in the future.

- As I mentioned before, for each failure of phasing they have made hyjal is not one of them, it was a huge phasing success.

- I see more questing like this in the near future.

- Could you imagine a new level 85 questing area in the eastern plaguelands, but first you need to finish the normal level eastern plaguelands quests?

- In blizzards effort to reuse everything I would not put this past them.

- Remember, you heard it here first. ;)

- It forces people to see the content questing, like it or not, if they want to get to the new quests.

- Is that a good thing?

- A friend of mine, who I talk to once in while, asked me what I was up to lately and I said, just playing WoW.  (we used to play another game together some years back)

- He said he has been caught up with call of duty and asked me when I was going to move on to a more age appropriate game.

- What did he mean by age appropriate you ask?

- He equates WoW to pong.  Just like pong was a boring, bland, basic and simple start up console game when they first came out, WoW is this generations pong.  Boring, bland, basic and simple.

- He said it, not me.

- I happen to like my boring, bland, basic and simple WoW.

- Sure I wish there were more to do, boring seems to be the buzz word this expansion, seriously, I have more fun mowing the lawn then playing sometimes, but I still like it.

- Bringing my bear through hyjal did cause one death however.

- Culture shock when the mobs change from 80s to 85s.  I did all my questing pulling 20 mobs at a time and mowing them down.

- Does not work so well when you do that with 85s on a relatively under geared bear.

- Did you know that bears can be pancakes?

- It is also making me rethinking questing in tank spec.

- I do it on my warrior too.

- Things seem to take forever and a day to die.

- I am so spoiled by playing my hunter where everything dies in, at worst, three shots.

- Even my mage takes a whooping when I run him though the dailies.

- Seems to take so much longer to kill things and there is always a risk of death it seems, even for tanks that can take a beating.

- Not on my hunter.

- I wonder if it is just a skill issue, I am obviously better on my hunter.

- Or if other classes just have it harder.

- My shaman has the worst of it, I am forever getting my butt handed to me.  Good thing she can heal.

- I could only imagine what would happen to my rogue.

- I do need to get his furry butt in there some day to get the leather working patterns.

- Perhaps after some more easy gear comes out and I can over gear it better.  I straight out hate fighting in melee range.

- It seems all melee take a beating 100 times worse then range.

- At least plate has, well, plate.   My poor rouge would need to get some serious health insurance because he is going to be spending a good part of his life in traction if he tries questing there.

- Surely it can not be only a skill issue.  Sure I am better at my hunter.  Sure my hunter is more geared.  But for doing it with my hunter being so stupid easy and laughable to it being an actual challenge at moments for other classes, that is not something that is skill only.

- I wonder what it would be like to do it on my priest.

- She is only a healer.  Will always be only a healer.  I leveled her as a healer.  I quest as a healer.  I think she will die a painful death as a healer questing there.

- I see a challenge and I like it.  I think I am going to have to do it.

- I still say that hunters are the absolute best when it comes to questing.  It is as if they where deigned for it.

- We where talking on vent yesterday about when we started.  Someone said, as we zoned into SFK, that they have done this more now then they ever did when leveling.

- I said, I never did it while leveling because I did not find any quests that led there.

- I also told the stories of not even knowing what dungeons were when I first started.

- There was no looking for dungeon system.  I had not yet discovered the forums.  I was only a 20 something hunter making my way through the world with my trusty cat at my side

- I got some quests for BFDs.  I spent around 4 hours in there soloing it.

- I thought this was just a unique challenge to the game.  Something that we could test ourselves with.  It never even occurred to me that it was not meant to be soloed, at least not at level or in my case at the time, underleveled.

- I soloed most of it when I finally hit a brick wall and could not go any further.

- That is when I finally said, I need help, and looked and found places like wowhead.

- When I found out that it was meant for five people I was pretty proud of myself for getting as far as I had.

- From that point on I took every dungeon quest I could find with the knowledge I might never be able to do them but I would try as long as it was still an experience giving quest.

- I soloed everything, as much as I could, all the way up while leveling.

- My first ever dungeon with other people was the Nexus.

- I was questing and someone whispered me if I wanted to DPS the Nexus and like a noob I said, what is that.

- They did not care that I did not know just as long as I was willing to try my best.

- So I DPSed the nexus, not sure what damage I did, recount was something I never even heard of at the time, but the one thing that will always stand out is my preconception of the classes was forever tainted then.

- My first ever tank was a warlock.

- We did it with only one wipe.

- I think that was my first time ever having actual group interaction in the game too.

- Sure, I grouped up here and there while leveling for a quest.  The one where you need to escort the one guy from where the tree guy in duskwood was to madesta post or whatever it is called.

- Three times I tried that alone, three times I died.

- Ended up doing it with two other people that saw me having trouble and knew we could help each other.

- When the quest was over one of the people saw I had no shoulders yet and gave me a green pair he had that dropped.

- When I told him I didn't have any money to pay he said to just take it.

- Random acts of kindness.  Sometimes I wonder where that has gone in wow.  I never see that any more.

- They had intellect and agility on them.  Awesome hunter item.

- It confused me a little how he knew I had no shoulders on.  It was not until much later that I noticed there was an inspect option and it never occurred to me, you can see shoulders on a character.

- What a noob.

- I think I enjoyed the game a lot more when I knew nothing about it.

- Maybe I should not be so hard on the idiots I see sometimes in dungeons because in the end they might be having a lot more fun them I am.

- Did a Zul with a lock that hellfired his way through the entire instance.

- I am sure he had fun.

- He did over 11K with just that so I let it slide.

- Compared to some people I have seen in zuls, he was doing good.

- And I bet he was having a hell of a lot of fun.

- I need to get back to having fun sometimes.  I miss the game being fun and it is no ones fault but my own.

- It is just harder to have fun now with the content the way it is.

- People having fun now can ruin a run.

- Nice game design blizzard.

- I loved healing wrath dungeons and being #1 on the DPS charts.

- Now that was fun.

- I did out DPS a DK on a few pulls in ZA when healing on my shaman.

- If you know the tank is going to hold aggro on huge packs you can flame shock and fire nova, throw a heal and fire nova again and end up pulling 10K and keeping the tank at max.

- Poor DK pulling 8K got beat by a healer.

- A few times.

- Okay, so there are still some chances for fun here and there.

- Have a great day and remember, have fun playing, don't take it too serious or you'll end up bitter like me.
