Your garrison and all the people around it tell you that.

They are trying the single player game story line in an MMO. And it could work, as long as they actually live by it. Which this proves they are not doing.

And just so you know, from a story perspective, if I do not go through the portal, azeroth is destroyed because without me it can not be saved.

Why is that? Because that is the current narrative of the game, that I am the hero and without me (as in the player meaning all of us) the world would have been destroyed.TheGrumpyElfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07621615711198405365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-70380351320297520352014-09-02T09:09:40.983-04:002014-09-02T09:09:40.983-04:00Warlords spends the entire expansion telling us we...Warlords spends the entire expansion telling us we are the hero. We are the ones that have been known to do these great deeds. We are not a witness to the story, we are the story. The entire garrison experience is to push that into our heads. We are the hero, not thrall. It is thrall that helped us, not us that helped thrall. At least that is what every NPC in the game believes.TheGrumpyElfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07621615711198405365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-66798201393749974912014-09-02T09:07:59.088-04:002014-09-02T09:07:59.088-04:00That joke was so good and so bad at the same time....That joke was so good and so bad at the same time. I doubt we would ever see it happen and even if it did they would bring him back from the dead instantly even stronger than he was beforehand.

That is the problem when creators become to attached to their creations in a genre like this. The weak writers and story developers let their liking the character interfere with good story telling.TheGrumpyElfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07621615711198405365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-46522275159467652632014-09-01T01:48:37.078-04:002014-09-01T01:48:37.078-04:00Who are you, nameless 'hero'?

You did not, Thrall did and it was I who helped him, not you.
You weren't even there when he was stronger, it was our armies, our revolution, my friends who made the final assault again helping Thrall. You just came there with your Alliance at the end to gawk and lay claims upon his head.
Thrall put him there, Thrall will deal with him. We will help him. You are not needed, unknown 'hero', go home. This is our mess, this our story. The history doesn't know you and won't remember you.

There's millions of yous out there, millions who die for the cause of their leaders. Some survive. If you won't be there to help Thrall, someone else will. Across all realities, millions of us help him but there is Thrall across all of them. Even if none come to his help, Thrall will still deal with Garrosh on his own. This is not your story, it's his story. Go home.

So when you'll be called to cross the portals, don't go. The history will still flow. You are one of many under the banner of your leaders, the ones that may live or die. You are not important. You want to claim laurels from Thrall? Don't go, he will prevail without you. This is not your story.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18173436197557929355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-30742614877693226412014-08-30T06:29:26.333-04:002014-08-30T06:29:26.333-04:00I still don't get all the thrall hate, I alway...I still don't get all the thrall hate, I always considered us (the player) as the insignificant ones that are just witnessing the story and that important event (like killing garrosh) should be left to lore figures.

Oh well, to each his own I guessAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-61946417619358577192014-08-29T21:04:16.831-04:002014-08-29T21:04:16.831-04:00stupid thrall, I guess I can see him wanting to fi...stupid thrall, I guess I can see him wanting to finish garrosh off himself since it was his mistake a sort of writing the cosmic comic karma sort of thing but gah let the player have some damn glory blizz.

also please edit this to say thrall needs some viAggra :PTigginoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-47703525307822157802014-08-29T20:00:21.530-04:002014-08-29T20:00:21.530-04:00Aggra was interesting in the Christie Golden book ...Aggra was interesting in the Christie Golden book but dreadful in game. Thrall gets a heroic sacrificial death, which re-establishing him as an orcish hero, and even for players who are sick of him it would be a shocking event. And it would really cement Garrosh in history as a Big Bad (not that he wasn't already with Theramore, but killing Thrall would be huge). Thrall goes out on top and in a selfless, heroic fashion, Garrosh becomes known as THE ONE WHO KILLED THRALL, and we are free of Thrall's glory-seeking ways. I also feel if Thrall died bravely in such a manner it'd lessen the annoyance we all feel with him, too.Radeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09530448668257881842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-67188627687183907392014-08-29T14:43:01.453-04:002014-08-29T14:43:01.453-04:00Yeah, did it last weekend. I got ever so frustrated when GreenJesus (Aka: Thrall, Aka: Go'El, Aka: The shaman formerly known as the earth aspect, Aka: ....) leaped in and stole the event from me and Yrel, who had been working on Garrosh for the entire fight so far. Heck... The fight went on for ~15 minutes by myself decked out in some marginal upgrades from WoD zones, and I enjoyed it only to have GreenJesus come in, demands Mak'gora, CutScene (which isn't there yet) and now I'm off in a completely different section of Nagrand. with no real understanding of what happened...Hasteurhttp://twitter.com/hasteurnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9015737272343810105.post-28914862118288876172014-08-29T10:28:31.768-04:002014-08-29T10:28:31.768-04:00Remember, it is not a kill steal, it is a kill sec...Remember, it is not a kill steal, it is a kill secure.
